Just Heavenly Pleasures
I first tasted Just Heavenly's cakes at Carcosa Sri Negara. It was a tasting session. One bite, and I was in love. I was greedy for more, but Pretty Pui slapped my wrists and pulled me away from the cakes. That was also the first time I met Nigel Skelchy (co-owner of Just Heavenly together with Allan Yap) whose gregarious nature and uninhibited demeanour bowled me over, and I've been infected ever since.
When Nigel mentioned that Just Heavenly Pleasures had opened at Damansara Heights on May 11, I couldn't contain my excitement. After tormenting Nigel for several days, begging him to deliver his cakes to me, I finally gave in to my desires by making a trip to Damansara Heights today.
Just Heavenly Pleasures not only sells cakes, but also takes flower bouquet orders and sells a nice range of chutneys and marmalades.
How does one make up one's mind when presented with attractive, tempting pieces such as these?
I couldn't make up my mind; everything looked delectable, so Nigel helped me fill up this pretty box with tiny treasures.
I went overboard and selected this scrumptious assortment.
I couldn't wait. I ate the chocolate durian cake immediately. How does one describe Heaven?
Congratulations, Nigel and Allan!

Just yesterday as I was driving to PJ from KL via Dsara Heights, I was thinking to myself whether or not I should cheer myself up with Nigel and Allan's creations... I should've... LOL
Those are not just heavenly pleasures, but 'sinful' ones. Chocolate shavings stole my heart
Maybe I should get our friend a housewarming present next sat (yeah and lots for us too!)...:)
Gee, I have been resisting going there since I don't need the extra calories. Think I will give it a try soon as those pixs look so delectable.
kat: yeah, next time follow your instincts. ;-)
suganya: the chocolate shavings are absolutely delicious. It's ironic that heavenly and sinful are both used to describe the same thing. hehe.
msiagirl: that's a good idea! And if he hasn't purchased a fridge yet, we'll have to finish up all the cakes for him lor. :-D
boo_licious: what's a little extra calories for a lot of pleasure? :-)
can we plan a hijack of his place on saturday instead of the saturday breaky? i havent got enough sleep the whole week..?
Oh my luscious, you know how often i come to your blog in a day...trying to stop myself from visiting your blog after you told me you are posting on the cakes. Cos I know i will go crazy! But somehow, tak boleh tahan and came in to take a peep. Aiyoyooyoyo...am thinking of going during lunch time instead of off work cos i cannot WAIT!
That's a lot of sinful heaven to take before lunch at just 1 post. Gulp. Btw, what does pieces of heaven cost?
I went there after work few days ago rite after i read wmw's post on this newly opened shop @ Damansara Heights.....but it was CLOSED!!!
Is the last pix the choc durian cake? Aiya, heaven cannot describe...it will be just heaven, loh *lol*
you people are killing me with all these photos, will blog about Iketeru tonight just for payback.
Woah, your pictures of the cakes tempt even this non-cake lover! I like the way they tie up their boxes with ribbon. It gives it such a nice elegant touch. To echo Tummy, how much are the cakes there?
LL Thanks so much. Words cannot express how blessed I feel to have begun a friendship with such a lovely soul as yourself. I'm doubly glad that you enjoyed the desserts. Thanks for being so effusive with your praise. Makes me feel a touch embarrased but also very touched at the support we've been getting. Come by again anytime but hope to see you outside of work again soon.
joe: sorry la. nigel's place only opens at 11.00am, and most of the food bloggers who are coming have got appointments after breakfast. Let's play it by ear. Breakfast is still on at Village Park..try to come earlier, say 8.00am. You can sleep after that. :-P
precious pea: sorry for making you drool. Good food must be shared. Since I can't share the food with you, I'm more than happy to share the pictures instead. Faster go before they run out of chocolate durian cakes!!! :-P
tummythoz: pieces of heaven at down to earth prices. ;-) But "earth" as in Kenny Hills, lor..not Brickfields. Kidding..actually quite reasonably priced: RM74 for the 9" and RM54 for 6". The small individual portions which I bought (last and second last pics) are priced at RM8.90 each. Eclairs are cheaper.
xiu long bao: next time call Nigel. I called him before going, and he was sweet enough to wait for me to turn up...after six, somemore!
tigerfish: yup, last pic is of chocolate durian cake. Ya hor, why describe heaven. everybody knows already, rite? :-)
henry yeo: thanks a lot, dude! :-P Have fun at Iketeru...looking forward to reading your review. :-)
pink elle: yeah, love their presentation. A far cry from the run-of-the-mill cardboard boxes u see nowadays. Prices - see reply to Tummythoz.
nigel dear, eating your cakes brings tears to my eyes. :-P I guarantee you that I'll be dropping by again soon for more goodies. And also to see you lar. You know how much I adore you, dontcha? :-P
So, here's another blogger who has tasted "heaven". Ha ha ha....Wasn't the choc durian just that? :o)
wmw: Choc durian was very good. Must go pick up more soon. hehe.
O_o i must fly to this place soon!!!!
Not fair LL ..... you went ahead without me !!!! I've been wanting to visit Nigel, but waiting for Xiu Long Bao to organize one ..... I guess I will just queue and go first la.
meiyen: it'll be worth your trip. ;-)
timothy: how to wait for gathering when the tummy rules?? sorry lar...next time i call u, k. :-P
posted it up, and read it to all your aching bleeding hearts.
Aiya, your pics reminded me about the wonderful cake we had at Attic. Don't care lor, must bring me go there next month :P
I love any desserts that has durian. Seeing your chocolate durian cake photo reminded me of an incident. Last summer, a good friend brought me a piece of durian pastry cake from Singapore wrapped in a nice box. The sad thing was it had turned bad after the long trip back to the US. :(
henry: okies. will hop over to ur blog! sorry I couldn't join u lar...ended up working till some ungodly hour.
jason: the cake that Nigel served at The Attic that night was really good, wasn't it? Sure, will take u to JHP when u're down in KL.
lee ping: I've never heard of anyone being brave enough to carry anything containing durians on a long haul flight! lol. U poor thing...but I suppose you get durians there, right? At exorbitant prices, no doubt. :-P
